About Me

To be able to create something in the kitchen, to play with flavors, textures, colors and aromas is to make magic. That gives me the inspiration to create unique moments and be part of something we all have in common: food. I was born in Mexico City in the late 70s. Mestiza daughter of intense and magnificent cultures such as Mexico, Cuba and Spain. Originally I wanted to be an actress, but life threw me between pots and pans. The desire to express myself was the key. I studied at the Ambrosia Culinary Center in Mexico City. In my eagerness to experiment I got a place for a culinary training at the Coronado Springs Resort in Orlando. Then I got a scholarship to study Food Styling at The Culinary Institute of America. A dream come true. Afterwards I came back to Mexico, this time to Cancun to work as a Catering Manager at the Taller Gourmet, where I lived the great experience of serving at the Professional Golf Association Tour at Mayakoba. Subsequently, the superiority of the Grand Velas hotel came to the Mayan Riviera and this is where I worked for the first time as a Chef de Cuisine. It is worth mentioning that I was the only woman among other 40 male chefs and hundreds of cooks. Finally in 2010 I created Food Motion Cooking Workshop®. The interest in food has become a passion for many and for me is a pleasure to show how amazing, colorful, delicious and unexpected our Mexican cuisine is.
